1. The service
AncienText provides a daily reading experience based on ancient texts, including original-script material and AncienText Hindi and English translations or editorial presentations. Features and available collections may change over time.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for access to your email account and for activity performed through your AncienText account. Do not attempt to access another reader’s account or misuse the service.
You may delete your account through Settings in the app or through the public Account Deletion page.
3. Free and Member access
Free Reader and Member features are described in the app and on the Membership page. Member Monthly and Member Annual provide the same membership entitlement for different billing periods.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded under the applicable store’s terms. Prices and taxes shown by the store control the transaction.
Deleting an AncienText account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription separately through the store account that made the purchase.
5. Content and intellectual property
Underlying ancient source texts may be in the public domain. AncienText’s original translations, editorial selections, software, design, brand assets, arrangement and presentation are protected to the extent permitted by law.
You may use the built-in sharing feature for personal, non-misleading sharing. Do not remove attribution, falsely claim AncienText editorial work as your own, scrape the service at scale, or republish substantial parts as a competing product.
6. No professional advice
AncienText is for reading, reflection and education. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, psychological or other professional advice.
7. Acceptable use
Do not interfere with security, reverse-engineer protected service components where prohibited by law, introduce malicious code, automate abusive traffic, or use the service unlawfully.
8. Availability and changes
AncienText may maintain, improve, suspend or discontinue features. Reasonable efforts are made to preserve reader data, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
9. Suspension and termination
AncienText may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect readers, the service, legal compliance or security. You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AncienText is provided “as is” and “as available.” AncienText is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory consumer rights, disputes are subject to the competent courts of New Delhi, India.
